The Turr-bo Tail design is now 10 years old!! It took 3 Muskie seasons to test various tail designs. This one was the number one design with standard components. I have several others under development. The purpose was to have a tail that would start quick at any speed, and also spin faster than any tail on the market and have a great popping sound! It Does all of the above. The Tails spin Super Smooth on 2 brass bushings, you can see and feel this when you handle one of the lures. Several Fish were caught on proto's in 2000 and the biggest was a 47" fish that hit a slow popping Turr-bo Wham! As with all tails these are constructed with the same process plus the added kicker propeller for the added speed and startups. Great Slow to Medium retrieve Speed Lure!! No other Wacker/Tail lure can compare with the performance of the Lac Seul Turr-bo! All thru wire Quality construction Like all AHL Surface Lures! There's is nothing like catching a Musky on Surface Lures!!!
How It Works: When you start your retrieve the larger prop is engaged from the forward motion. When it is parallel to the surface of the water the Kicker prop now also becomes engaged and assists the larger prop around. This gives super quick start ups.
The Tail has been redesigned and is now One solid piece of 0.032" Stainless Steel that is Screwed into the tail section and also epoxied at 3 steps in the process!!
Last season at dusk I was working a Gila turr-bo slow and had a fish hump up behind the lure. As I increased the speed to the more intense pop/thumping sound she slammed the lure...a few moments later a 47.5" muskie released on the Gila monster. Two more fish were caught that night on the same Turr-bo!!
